Abstract :
Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs) are widely used in gas turbine hot section components to prevent parts from high temperature effects and increase the efficiency. Gas turbine operating temperatures are getting increase in parallel with the technological developments. Based on this, it is required to higher the thermal and mechanical resistance of thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) used in gas turbines. Thermal conductivity is one of factor for increasing the thermal resistance of TBCs. . In this study, thermal conductivity of TBC applied by Atmospheric Plasma Spray has been investigated experimentally by comparative method. Measurements have been carried out for TBC which have three different porosity.321 stainless steel has been used for reference material, and the thermal conductivity of reference material depending on the temperature has been obtained by laser flash method. Measurements have been performed up to 600 °C and compared to results found in literature.
