Trichogramma (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) Species, Their Hosts and Recent Developments in Systematic in Turkey
Abstract :
Systematics of Trichogramma species is complex and the problem still continues to the present day. Trichogramma species identified so far in different culture plants and forest areas of Turkey are Trichogramma evanescens Westwood 1833; Trichogramma cacoeciae Marchal 1927; Trichogramma brassicae Bezdenko 1968; Trichogramma embryophagum Hartig 1838; Trichogramma dendrolimi Matsumura 1926; Trichogramma turkeiensis Kostadinov Bulut Kilincer 1991; Trichogramma kılınceri Kostadinov (sp.n.) Bulut Kilincer 1991; Trichogramma buluti Kostadinov (sp.n.) Bulut Kilincer 1991; Trichogramma turkestanica Meyer 1940; Trichogramma pintoi Voegele 1982 and Trichogramma euproctidis (Girault 1911). Seven of a total eleven species were identified as synonyms. Considering the synonyms, eight species belonging to the genus Trichogramma have been known to exist in Turkey.
