Title Of Article :
Effects of zinc chloride application on color performance of cotton fabrics
Abstract :
In this study, cotton fabrics were treated with zinc chloride under different conditions. The treated and untreated cotton fabric samples were dyed with reactive dye and softened siliconized finishing by the exhaustion technique. The K/S color strength, light, washing, and rubbing fastnesses of the dyed cotton fabrics was investigated. The zinc amount on cotton fabrics was determined by atomic absorbtion spectrum. The results showed that zinc salt application has no effect on light fastness; however, it slightly decreases washing and rubbing fastnesses.
