Abstract
Impinging air jets are used in many areas where refrigeration is required such as cooling of electronic devices, thermal treatment of metals and glass tempering. In the heat transfer by impinging jets, the less fluid is used and the better cooling is obtained also in addittion to these pump/fan load decreases. In this study, heat and flow characteristics which are obtained in channel flow have been compared with the jet impingement for heat sinks having rectangle and hexagon finned which are took place on the narrowing-extending geometry. The results are presented in Nu-Re, Cpx,y-l/(l0/2) and η-Re for enhancement efficiency in constant power pump.
