Abstract :
The purpose of this work is to determine the change in the physical and mechanical properties of concrete produced with white cement after the high temperature and different cooling conditions. For this reason, C30 class concrete has been produced by using 52.5 R white cement, calcareous crushed stone aggregate, super plasticizer admixture and water as additional material. Fresh concrete is poured into the plat mold that’s size 12cm * 50cm * 60cm and the on 14. days, core samples that diatemer is 5 cm, are taken. They were heated to cure the pool for 360 days. 200, 300, 450, 600, 750 and 900 °C temperatures were applied for 3 hours to core samples. Reference samples are under laboratory conditions (20 °C) samples that are on hold with. After high temperature, self-cooling in the furnace and sudden cooling down with water were applied on samples. Weight loss, ultrasonic pulse velocity, compressive strength experiments were conducted on these concretes. As a result, when temperature increases, the loss in wight of concrete has increased, also ultrasonic pulse velocity and compressive strength values are reduced. The most obvious difference between the cooling conditions began to be seen in the 750 °C. Weight loss (7,74%), ultrasonic pulse velocity reduction ratio (78,18%) and strength loss (84,52%) of the sample is cooled suddenly with water are more than the samples self cooling. On the 900 ° C that is peak temperatures, concrete structure is completely degraded in sudden cooling with water. Compressive strength of self cooling samples has decreased by 89% on 900 °C.
