Abstract :
Pesticides are most applied tools among the plant protection methods. But unconsciously and intensively usage of pesticides in agricultural areas causes some ecosystem problems. One of the classification system of pesticides is based on the halflife in the soil. In this classification, pesticides are divided 4 group, namely, nonpersistent, moderately persistent, persistent and permanently persistent. Among the pesticides used are those that break down very quickly in the soil, as well as those that can remain in the soil for many years. Over time, scientists have discovered that environment must be cleared from particularly persistent pesticides, and they have tried different methods to remove pesticides from the soil. Phytoremediation is one of the ecological cleaning method in which plants and plants associated microorganisms are used to remediate soil from pollutants. Phytoremediation is also called plant remediation or green remediation. There are 6 different mechanisms under the phytoremediation method. These are phytoextraction, phytotransformation, phytovolatilization, phytostabilization, rhizodegradation and rhizofiltration. Chlorinated, and organophosphorous pesticides and also polychlorinated biphenyls can be cleaned from the soil by phytoremediation process. Some plants, such as sunflower, black willow, red mulberry, alfalfa, water hyacinth and some cucurbit varieties can be used in phytoremediation process. Pesticide pollution in soil is increased day by day. In this study, it is aimed to keep a light on new studies by compiling the current studies about pesticides that can be purified from the soil with phytoremediation..
