Military Training of Persian Children and Young’s in the Light of Ancient Sources
Abstract :
Persians (Achaemenids) emerged as a major power in the middle 6th century BC. Persian Empire that had reached the largest frontier in a short time understood the importance of the military organization in order to be able survive. Thus, the kings of the Persian who thought that a good education system should be constitute for the strong military system. The purpose of this study is to indicate the education of the Persian children and youngs before they entered the army according to ancient sources. This article includes between ca. middle of 6th and ca. middle of 4th BC. As a result, military training of Persian children and youngs was determined basically physical endurance, armed exercise and loyalty lessons.
