The Production Cost and Profitability of Cut Flower Growing in Yalova Province
Abstract :
The aim of this study is to bring up the production cost of cut flowers in Yalova province. Data used in this study were collected from a survey study including 80 farms in 2 counties and 3 villages of these counties. The total cost spent on growing an acre of cut flowers in the study area was found as 56,632.00 TL. While varied costs forms 97.71 % of the cost of cut flower growing, constant costs forms only 2.29 % of it. In addition, the proportional profit the cut flower grower in the study area gets from the production was determined to be 0.18, 0.02, 0.08, 0.02 and 0.04TL for Lilyum, Frezya, Şebboy, Lisianthus and rose respectively.
