Abstract :
This study aims to determine the economic value of the use of Uzungol Nature Park in Trabzon Province for recreational and tourism purposes. This research to determine the economic value of benefiting from Uzungol Nature Park for recreation and tourism purposes was done to compare the resulting benefit values. The main material of this study consists of a face-to-face survey conducted for this purpose with 117 people who visited Uzungol Nature Park at July-August 2012. Travel Cost Method was used. In this study to determine the economic value of Uzungol Natural Park. As model, internal layered structure- and cut-relieving endogenous poisson model and the negative binomial models were used. The necessary statistical analysis was done and the values of recreational and tourism purposes (surplus value) were determined. The number of annual visits was taken as the dependent variable while using this method. As for the independent variables, a total of 15 units as travel cost, visitor s age, sex, marital status, home ownership status, education, second job, annual income, social security, nature index, information index, travel distance, retirement issue, car ownership and status of coming from Istanbul or other provinces were used. In conclusion, being a male, owing a house, having social security and income ranging 1501-3000 TL boost annual visiting numbers. In contrast, less number of trips are associated with owing a otomobile and holders of high school education relative to all other education groups. The surplus value available for a person is 333,33 TL per trip. Due to the average annual number of visits per person to Uzungol Nature Park is 1,52 the annual surplus value makes 506,66 TL per person, and given that, on average, 200 000 people visit the Uzungol Nature Park in a year, the cost of using the resort for recreational and tourism purposes is calculated as 101 332 000 TL/ year respectively
