Abstract :
This study was undertaken to determine suitable pruning level after winter frost damage causing decreasing of yield and minimize the damage in winter bud of Karaerik grape cultivar in Üzümlü discrict (Erzincan) during 2011 and 2012. In the research, winter cold damage levels of primer and seconder buds were determined by using sectioning method. After determining winter damage, usually occurring at the region in winter bud of vine, yield and vegetative development on different levels of pruning were estimated and five different pruning methods were applied, depending on bud number and its position in vine. Bud break, first flowering, full bloom and veraison dates of the grape were detected. Primer, seconder, total bud break rate, diameter of cane, length of cane and pruning residue were also determined. Cluster number and weight of cluster were reported and vine yield was predicted accordingly. Cluster? weight, seed number, TSS, total sugar, tartaric acid content and pH were determined. A application [40 buds (2 buds per 2 stems) per vine], B application 60 buds (2 buds per 3 stems) per vine), C application 60 bods (3 buds per 2 stems) per vine) and D application 90 buds (3 buds per 3 stems) per vine) were applied. Pruning extensively made by in the region was accepted as control (30 buds (3 buds per stem) per vine). According to the research result, the best yield (13 kg/vine) was taken from D application while the low yield (3.4 kg/vine) was reported in C application. The best vegetative development was determined as 3593.0 g/vine in D application when pruning stem weight was take concentrated after the application year. The lowest vegetative development was detected in control application and its pruning stem weight was 2247.8 g/v
