Abstract :
Geotrichum candidum Link (1809) is an important fungal pathogen that causes watery-soft in the rots of plants such as melon, tomato, carrot and in storable fruits and vegetables after postharvest. Althought, this pathogen is mainly seen in the storage, it causes decay in carrots in the field conditions, too. There are any advisable chemicals against diseases of carrots in Turkey. Therefore, new strategies are needed for these pathogens control. In this context, it is aimed to investigate effective of some bacterial biocontrol agents for control of sour rot pathogen in carrot under in vitro. In this aim, dual culture of fifteen bacterial biocontrol agents were tested for antagonistic properties against G. candidum under in vitro. The inhibition zone of bacterial biocontrol agents changed from 17.33 mm to 40.00 mm and percentage of growth inhibition changed from 7.40 % to 37.96 % in dual culture. Consequently, the most effective strains against G. candidum growth was RK-254 (37.96 %), followed by FDG-37 and RK-506 in in vitro
