Land Use Planning of Küçükelmalı Pond Basın According to Soil Conservation Measures

In this study, main aim is to investigate the sustainable management according to the water and sediment yield of Küçükelmalı pond basin. Potential soil loss was calculated by using the USLE equation for the basin. In the Küçükelmalı basin, according to the existing land use situation, the annual average potential soil loss are 6.40 t/ha by using USLE equation. In the basin for farmland areas, potential soil loss will be decreased to 5.15 and 2.6 t/ha/year for contour farming and contouring + strip cropping, respectively. With the applied senarios and suggested new land use plan of the basin, that value will be decreased down to 0.08 t/ha via sustainable management of the basin.
