Abstract :
In this study performed in Manisa condition during 2009 and 2010, we investigated the effect of shading and cover material applications on the table grape growth. The vines of Sultani Çekirdeksiz grape cultivar were covered with three different levels (35%, 55%, 75%) shading nets from the veraison period to the beginning of August twenty. Vines were covered with four different cover material (transparent polyethylene, mogul, polypropen cross-stitch, Lifepack) from September to harvesting time. The harvesting was delayed in covering applications from 38 to 64 days in the open field. Shading applications adversely affected the bud efficiency of the next year. Accord ing to the values of the two-year average, total yield ranged between kg/da 1536 and kg/da 2290; marketable yield was kg/da 1029 and kg/da 1842. The lowest marketable yields were obtained from control and 35% shading+ polypropen cross-stitch applications. The costs to establish one decare vineyard in the field according to the variable of production models ranged from TL/da 788.1 to TL/da 1729.1. While the lowest cost in the open field growing, the most expensive production was in 75% shade + Lifepack cover. 55% shading + Lifepack and polypropen cross-stitch applications have taken first place in terms of net profit. Control, 35% shading+ polypropen cross-stitch and 75% shading+ transparent polyethylene production models, models of the net profit calculation is the damage has been high. 75% shading, especially in terms of both cost efficiency and sustainable (bud efficiency) productive is not recommended. Despite its highest production costs of 55% + Lifepack application (second model), it can be recommended as an ideal production model for marketable grapes, delayed harvesting period and higher price in market.
