Abstract :

Efficient use of water increasingly gained importance due to the water is a scarce resource, in the 21st century. The use of modern high-efficiency water-saving irrigation technology is encouraged in agricultural sector which is the highest water user, In our country, Rural Development Investment Support Project which was launched in 2006, began to be supported pressurized irrigation methods through grants. Conscious Irrigation, Fertile Future Project with Drip and Sprinkler Irrigation Systems was prepared by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock. Loans are given to the farmers to install drip and sprinkler systems with interest-free and 5 years term since 2007 by the Ziraat Bank, in the framework of the Conscious Irrigation and Fertile Future project. In this study, 11 provinces were selected and 81 farmers who took loan from the Ziraat Bank for installation of pressurized irrigation systems were made questionnaire. In the questionnaire, some data were obtained about overall satisfaction with the farmers irrigation system status, changes occurring in agricultural activities with pressurized irrigation for farmers and the views for problems during irrigation. In this study, pressurized irrigation systems supported by the Ziraat Bank were evaluated and discussed.
