Partial Field Application of Toxic The Ready Bait Formulation Against Melon fly [Myiopardalis pardalina (Bigot, 1891) (Diptera: Tephritidae )]
Abstract :
In this study, bait strial were made in our country fort the first time in order to control Melon fly[Myiopardalis pardalina (Bigot, 1891) (Diptera: Tephritidae)] which causes serious damage in melon. The trials were conducted as an alternative control regarding the determination of applicability of the bait formulation and spraying the specific areas. It was aimed to determine the efficacy of the mixture of attractant (Ziray) and Deltamethrin which is successfully applied as a toxic bait to the other fruit flies in our country. As a result of the study, the highest effect of the mixture of Ziray and Deltamethrin was % 21.86 in 2009 and % 42.19 in 2010, respectively. It was determined that the results of the efficacy values were not enough when taking in to consideration of the potantial damage of melon fly. The study was carried out, repeating two years between 2009-2010 in Kazan district of Ankara where melon was widely cultivated.
