Self Care Agency in The Postmenopausal Women and Effectıve Factors
Abstract :
This is a descriptive research designed to determine self care agency in the postmenopausal women and effective factors. The sample size of research consist of 120 women between 45-55 years old who were in postmenopausal stage and accepted to be involved research at the one of Primary Health Centre in Izmir. The data for the research was collected by “Introductory Information Form” and by “The Scale of Selfcare Strength”. Numbers and percentages were used in evaluation of the data and “t”test, variant analysis ve kruskal wallis were used in analysis. The mean scores of the women were 50.47±14.39. It was founded that the level of self care agency of the women was effected the level of education, occupation, perceieved income level, seeking ways of coping strategies for postmenopausel problems, postmenopause family support, perceieved level of physical and mental health and chronic illness situation (p 0.05). It was founded that women who were in postmenopausal stage consist of risk group for community heath. However, it was determined that wowen who negatively percevied their health and their insufficient conditions were caused to rise self-care agency. Therefore, these findings were thougth a chance to preserve and promote health for postmenopausal women. It is suggested that educational programs on menopause are provided and disseminated for the women to improve their health.
