Abstract :
This methodological study aims to adapt the organizational citizenship level scale to nursing and test its reliability and validity in order to add the scale to nursing literature. The population of the research included nurses employed at hospitals in the European side of Istanbul. Nurses in 24 non-specialized hospitals with bed capacities of over 100 who had ≥ 1 year of experience in their current institutions were included in the sample. A 6-item questionnaire and Organizational Citizenship Level Scale were used for data collection. Percentage, factor analysis, item total score correlation and Cronbach alpha coefficient were used for data analyses. Item total score correlation value of the scale was 0.27-0.53 and factor load was 0.420-0.864. The scale was divided into 5 factor groups but items concerning participation subscale of the original scale were included in information subscale. Total Cronbach alpha value was .87. The results showed that Organizational Citizenship Level Scale was a reliable and valid tool to be used in nursing.
