Abstract :
This study which aimed to develop a school culture scale towards identifying organization culture from the students’ view in nursing training institutions was carried out methodologically in two nursing schools of the universities in İstanbul and Antalya. The sample of the research comprised 410 students. The items pool prepared by the researchers was organized in accordance with expert views, piloted with 12 students and composed into a 53-item scale draft. Data collected after the test-retest (n=85) were assessed by means of item total correlation analysis, factor analysis and Cronbach’s alpha analysis. The results revealed that the scale was divided into 8 sub-dimensions, the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was .93 in the scale, and .69 and over in the sub dimensions. In conclusion, it was maintained that the developed school culture scale was valid and reliable and could be used in order to determine student evaluations in institutions given nursing education.
