The Professional Motivation of Midwifery Students

Abstract :
The aim of the study, midwifery students in Health Sciences to determine the levels of motivation. A questionnaire and motivation scale was used. in the research. 834 students participated inthe research among 10 schools in Turkey. The static analysis of date was done with 16:00 SPSS package program, the arithmetic mean, percentages and evaluated with t tests. Results, the avarege age of the students were 21.45 and 69.5% graduated from ordinary lycees, 28.6% living with their families and 40.9%in the dormitories 54% of the student preference nursing in the exam of the goverment and 17.1% prefered midwifery divisions. Sixty-five point nine percent of the participants made their choises by themselves. But 16.7%was traying to change their divisions. The differantion is were found meaningful when preference made by the students compared by the motivation to participate to professional works. The reability confident (Cronbach’s alpha) of the motivation scale was found 0.813. Conclusions every society gives status to the proffessions. Therefore students wants to be educated in theprofessions that is percieved as convenant in their society otherwise their successes fails. It is recommended to give social support to the midwifery students while educating in the universities.
