Abstract :
The aim of this methodological study was conducted to develop a reliable and valid measurement tool to assess patient safety culture. Data was gathered from 432 nurses and was evaluated by SPSS 17.00 and LISREL program. The scale were excluded after the scale was reviewed by 10 experts for the content validity and then pilot study was done on 15 nurses. It has been found that the correlation coefficient was r=.46-.75. There is a statistically significant correlation between these results (p .001).Factor loads of the items was found between .43 and .82. There is no significant difference between two separate applications of the scale in test-retest and correlation coefficient was high (r= .47). The Cronbach’s Alfa correlation coefficient was found .97 of the total of the scale and .83-.92 of the subscales. The results of this study determined that the “Patient Safety Culture Scale” is valid and reliable and can be used in nursing group.
