Abstract :
Over the past 10 years various carefully structured studies have shown that many of the traditional approaches to surgical care, such as preoperative bowel preparation, the use of nasogastric tubes, and the use of graduated diets are unnecessary or even harmful. This article will discuss the current approaches made in perioperative care.
