    Women’s Opinion about the Men’s Contraception who Apply for Contraception

  • Abstract
    Objective: The study was made that conducted to determine women’s opinion about the men’s contraceptive methods. Method: In the study, was aimed to reach the married women who were applied to Afyon Kocatepe University Ahmet Necdet Sezer Training Hospital and Delivery Clinics, Afyon Zubeyde Hanım Gynaecology and Infantile Diseases Hospital and Maternity and Infantile Welfare Family Planning centers for contraception in fertile-aged married women, 338 women who constituted the sample. The data were collected using a questionnaire through face to face interview technique. The data were evaluated using SPSS 11.0 program. Evaluation of the study the mean value, standard deviation, minimum and maximum values, percentages, chisquare test and Student s t-test were used. Results: 53.3% of women uses a contraceptive method while 46.7% of women’s husband use a contraceptive method. IUD (intra uterine device) is the most preferential contraceptive method in women while condoms is preferred by men. Method of vasectomy for their partners, women who do not want the majority. 54.4% of the participants think that male contraception methods are not common. Conclusion: Expanding on behalf of the consulting services done by increasing male participation in family planning, will provide significant benefits.
