Abstract
Nursing is a rapidly progressive discipline in the process of professionalism. Developing professional autonomy is an important problem on the way of the completion of this process. Professional autonomy can be confused with a number of concepts and used interchangeably. In this article, the relationship and differences between professional autonomy and the concepts of independence and freedom have been tried to be discussed. In this context, the conceptual framework of professional autonomy will be discussed.
