Abstract :
Aim: This research was carried out by using descriptive and analytic design to investigate nurses’ professional attitudes and some factors which influence these attitudes. Methods: This research was performed with regard to nurses working at Bolu Izzet Baysal State Hospital (Köroğlu Unit) between April-May 2010. The sample of this study was 89 nurses working at this unit. Data were collected by using “Nurse Description Form and Professional Attitudes Inventory”. Data were analysed with mean, standart deviation, frequency, percentage and nonparamatric tests including; Kruskall Wallis test, Mann Whitney U test. Findings: It is determined that the total score was 140.28.01±11.99 (32-160 points). It was found that some characteristics of nurses’ example;; education level, working time, shape of the task, night shifts, status of the profession satisfaction and participation at scientific events influenced the Professional attitude positively. Result: Nurses’ professional attitudes inventory score was good-level.
