Abstract :
Determination of the Genital Hygiene Behaviours of Women in seven different provinces: A Multi-Centred Cross-Sectional Study Objective: This study was conducted to determine the genital hygiene behaviours of women living in 7 different geographical regions of Turkey and to compare them according to regions. Method: The data of this cross-sectional and descriptive study were collected from the provinces of Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Adana, Gaziantep, Erzurum, and Trabzon between May 2013 and June 2014. The data were collected using the questionnaire form and the Genital Hygiene Behaviors Inventory. Percentage distributions and analysis of variance were used in assessing the data. Result: While the highest mean score of the Genital Hygiene Behaviours Inventory was determined in the province of Ankara (83.15±12.09), the lowest mean score was determined in the province of Erzurum (74.12±12.19). In the study, women’s total mean score of the genital hygiene inventory was 78.96±11.65. Conclusion: As a result of the study, women’s mean score of the Genital Hygiene Behaviors Inventory was found to be slightly above the medium level.
