Determining of Sociotrophy and Autonomy Personality Characteristics of the Nurses Working at Surgery Clinics
Abstract :
Objective: This is a research to examine the sociotropy – autonomic personality characteristic of the nurses working at surgical clinics. Method: This descriptive study which was conducted between August-December 2013. The research population, Erzurum Ataturk University and the Regional Training and Research Hospital, 234 nurses working in surgical clinics, sampling and reporting is not permitted, a total of 191 nurses who agreed to participate in the study created. Collection of data that includes identifying characteristics of nurses Survey Form and Sociotropy-Autonomy Scale was used. The data obtained from this study are evaluated in computer programs, data for the evaluation of percentages, averages, independent samples t-test, One-way ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis test, Mann-Whitney U test was used for analysis. Results: SOSOTÖ scale of nurses working in surgical clinics sociotropy subscale score over 120 points 68.70±17.43, 77.53±15.91 autonomy subscale scores were determined. Sociotropy personality traits of nurses and education level, number of children with autonomy of personality traits revealed a statistically significant difference. Conclusion: Sociotropic personality traits of nurses working in surgical clinics on an intermediate level of autonomic-sociotrophic personality traits of personality traits can be said that higher. Employee sociotropy and autonomy personality traits-service training programs for the development of regulation, depending on personality traits to increase organizational behavior studies suggested.
