Abstract :
In addition to major anatomical and physiological changes, postpartum period is a difficult process that is undertaken new roles and responsibilities and experiencing the transition to parenthood. Women increasingly prefer the use of natural and complementary therapies to cope with the problems that occur postpartum period. Information about complementary therapies of health care professionals and patients is extremely important that have conscious consumption of therapies and reducing adverse effects. The purpose of this article was examined complementary therapies within evidence-based studies for the last 20 years about the living conditions of women in the postpartum period. As a result of the conducted literature review it has emerged that mind-body, manipulative and body, energy and biologically based therapies being researched more and looking at the effects on quality of life, depression, anxiety, stress, sadness, epizyo healing, pain, nausea, fatigue, insomnia, breastfeeding, nipple cracts, body weight and lipid levels. It was identified that studies from our country are limited and we need more evidence-based information with high-quality RCTs on postpartum period.
