Patient Review of The Instruction Activity with Visual Message Brochure that Include The Benefıts of Breastmilk and Breastfeeding Techniques

Aim: In our research, it is intended to increase breastfeeding knowledge of mother with visual brochures and interactive education. Methods: This research is a quasi-experimental study with posttest control group which designed to determine differences in training methods on influence of effective breastfeeding and breastfeeding self-efficacy. The research completed in a pay hospital in Istanbul. Research samples are present 30 control constitutes and 30 test, total of 60 women who accept to join the research between April 2015 – August 2015 and selected by nonprobability sampling method. Our research has received the necessary ethic permission to establish our work. Results: When examining individual characteristics, age avarage is 23.42; education characteristics, %51.7 primary school graduate. When Latch breastfeeding diagnostic scale used there is a significant difference on mothers breastfeeding success between educated by interactive teaching methods and verbal trainings (p 0.05). Mothers educated by interactive teaching methods success are higher. When breastfeeding self-efficacy scores are compared there is also a significant difference between educated by interactive teaching methods and verbal trainings. The visual brochure given has positively affected to increase breastfeeding self-efficacy (p 0.05).Conclusion: The importance of education in improving breastfeeding success is great. And visual materials used also helped to increase this success.
