Abstract :
Fundamental concepts of children’s literature is to believed started in 16th century and after 20th century it becomes seen widely in westren literature, but we can easily claim that children’s literature is old as long as history in eastern literature. Iran’s civilization, which has been home for numerous civilization in the history, had given great importance to child and young literature. Many books have been written for them so far. The fact that is hard to say Iranian had independent written literature for children, but we can see that there was oral literature for children even before Islamic era. We have a lot of story, tale, epic, enigma, lullaby, musical theatre etc… from ancient Iranian time which given us an idea about child and young feelings. Whenever we say classical Iranian literature is for adults on the other hands it can be accepted that Folk literature based on children world. In order to understand children’s literature in Iranian culture and civilization we should go back to history of Iran. The ancient Iranian culture and society will give us many clues to search and know better the children’s literature. In this work [article] we will try to study the traces of children’s literature pre-islamic period in Persian literature. Assyrian Tree, Hodayname with Andarzname’s… will be our main sources to study children’s literature as a child’s point of view.
