THE LEVEL OF CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN TEACHERS’COMPETENCIES INTRODUCED BY MONE AND THE TEST OFEDUCATIONAL SCIENCES OF STATE EMPLOYEE SELECTIONEXAM
Abstract :
In this study, it is examined the extent to which The General Competencies of Teacher’s Professionintroduced by Ministry of National Education (MoNE GCTP) has been considered by the Test ofEducational Sciences of State Employee Selection Exam (TES SESE). Depending on documentanalysis the study operationally compared the performance indicators of MoNE GCTP with thestem of each question in the TES SESE to match accordingly. 49 questions out of 119 questions ofTES SESE were able to be matched with 24 performance indicators of MoNE GCTP. The studyconcluded that TES SESE does not tend to measure MoNE GCTP and measurability ofperformance indicators is not adequate. Systematic mechanism of selecting teachers does not exist,too. Based on the results, to be able to strength the functionality of performance indicators in theselection process the study offers that performance indicators should be defined in a measurableway. A systematic mechanism should be constructed among responsible organizations in theprocess of educating-evaluating and selecting.
