Abstract :
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the curriculum of science and technology course in elementary education and the curriculum of undergraduate and graduate programs of science teacher education in terms of philosophy, goal and content. To this end, first of all literature was searched in detail and philosophy, goal and content were explained, programs were introduced. Document analysis, one of the methods of qualitative research, was used in the study. The study was carried out with the descriptive research method. Data collected in the study was examined and compared in terms of ‘Philosophy’, ‘Goal’ and ‘Content’. The results show that while the name of the undergraduate program the participant teachers graduated from is science teacher education, the course those participants give is named as science and technology. The curriculum of science and technology course in elementary education and undergraduate and graduate science teacher education programs are prepared in accordance with the philosophy of our education system. However, it is possible to state that there is no special disciplinary philosophy belonging to the Science and Technology program. That’s why; the infrastructure of a special disciplinary philosophy belonging to the Science and Technology program should be prepared. The acquisitions of undergraduate and graduate programs should be continual and progressive, in addition to being coherent with the curriculum. Furthermore, goals should be planned in such a way that they may be holistic and continuous.
