Abstract :
Kars is one of the first cities coming to mind when Minstrel Literature is called Thus, the people who want to make a research on this type of literature have to start from Kars and around this region.If we would make a Minstrelsy map of Turkey, Kars, Erzurum, Erzincan and Sivas has to be painted with dark colours.Kars has trained very skillfull minstrels beginning from Dede Korkut to Çobanoğlu. Apart from these, Zihni, Senlik, Ceyhuni, Bahri, Kahraman, Irfani, Mudami, Kasapoglu, Hifzi, Cemal Hodja, Nihani and Karahanlı are the ones who come to mind first. Minstrels are usually trained by taking lessons from a master. Besides, minstrels are made to drink wine –called as a reward- and mistrelsy is reinforced with a divine support.In the stories, the masuk who is prohibited to see the boys or girls close to his/her heart, there is nothing to do even if s/he burns with the grief of not being able to see the beloved. Here, under this desperation,religious power becomes and helps young people.The youngs who don t see each other,dream a white-bearded and cherub sage who makes them drink a liquid they have never tasted before.
