Abstract
The first condition of competitiveness of people is competitive ability of its language. And the opportunity of competition of language is a literary translation. The literary trans-lation is known as a one of the hardest type of translation. Translation is a branch of art. In this type of art your native language is compared wıth another one, translator and author are in the competition with each other. The translator makes a new thing with a made one, by opening new opportunities in his own language.During Soviet Union a lot of works were translated into Kazakh by Russian. One of the this translated work was the novel of Turkish writer Reshat Nuri Guntekin ‚Chalıkushu‛. Roman was published in 1922 and translated into Russian in 1963, into Kazakh language in 1969. Even if novel was translated from Rus-sian language, it is easy to understand by the phrasal words which translated with the same alternatives that Kazakh and Turkish languages are very close.In this work by comparing Kazakh variant of novel ‚Chalykushu‛ is shown the using methods of translating phrasal words,especially what problems may arise because of the trans-lation of phrasal words by motamot method
