An Overview of the Kazakh Storytelling
Abstract :
It is possible to find all the features of the Kazakh society in the stories called äñgime in Kazakh language. Incidents which are experienced or heard and value standards in the life of the Kazakh nation, passed down from generation to generation first orally in the form of folk stories, and then with the written narratives. This article focuses on the historical course of Kazakh storytelling. General information are given about the main themes and about story writers under the headings of the first period stories, stories of the Soviet era, and stories of the post-independence period.
