Abstract :
Aydinogullari Principality, is one of the pricipalities established in the Western Anatolia after the fall of Anatolian Seljuk State. Mehmet Beg, in particular, the founder of Aydinogullari together with the other begs of the pricipality, urged writing and translating Turkish works, and provided the scholars with the encouragement in this way. On behalf of Aydinoglu Mehmet Beg, Thalebi’s Qisas al-anbiya (stories of the prophets) and Farid al-din Attar’s Tadhkirat al-awliya (memoirs of the saints) were translated into Turkish. Both of these translations were belong to the same translator. Tadhkirat al-awliya which was presented to Aydinoglu Mehmet Beg, was also presented to Umur Beg bin Ali Han, after some minor amendments. In this study, it is aimed to focus on Qisas al-anbiya (stories of the prophets), translated from Arabic and and Tadhkirat al-awliya (memoirs of the saints) translated from Persian, both of which dedicated to Aydinoglu Mehmet Beg.
