ANALYZE OF DIVAN LITERATURE TEXTS IN THE COURSE BOOKS TAUGHT IN COLLEGES BETWEEN THE YEARS OF 1928 – 1950
Abstract :
In this article, almost 25 course books and the divan literature texts in those course books which were used in education between 1928-1950-the time which encountered the fall of Ottoman Empire and the foundation of Turkish Republic- were analyzed. As a result of this analysis, it was aimed to determine in which way the divan literature texts were selected in the course books and the way they were used in the education by finding the information about the author and era of the divan literature texts in the high school course book as part of Turkish Language and Literature Curriculum. At the later part of the analyses, it was stated what type and which themes the texts in the books included. Moreover, the published postgraduate and doctoral theses were analyzed and some of them were evaluated to be source for the study. This article is formed of two sections. In the first section, the education system within from Tanzimat Reform Era to today was analyzed. Besides, it has mentioned the importance of education textbooks. In the second section, some of the literature books that were instructed in the schools between 1928 - 1950 were analyzed one by one and some explanations were made about their authors and contents. Also, the types of the texts contained in the book and the themes were examined.
