CONCEPT OF “MOUNTAIN” IN THE LINGUISTIC VIEW OF THE RUSSIAN AND TURKISH WORLD (LINGUO-CULTUROGICAL ANALYSIS)
Abstract :
From the end of the 20th century till today, the study subject of linguistics researchers has been solution of the language and culture interaction problems. For effectual and simple solutions, linguists have pursued a goal to research into universal and national-cultural values and images existing within the linguistic view of the World of diversified societies. İn this context, how mountain concept is perceived by Russian and Turkish folks and then in what way these perception reflect on the language of both communities are identified through culture linguo-culturogical analysis method actualised in linguistics groups. Analysis material consists of Russian and Turkish idioms based on the “mountain” lexis in the carefully selected idioms are brought out and described. Apart from that, in order to prevent probable communication mishaps between the persons of both country, data acquired in the end of the study are interpreted and a set of suggestions are mase.
