Abstract :
The following memories about the Battle of Tripoli belong to Nuri (Killigil) Pasha, the brother of Enver Pasha. Listened and collected directly from Nuri Pasha himself, these memories were prepared for publishing by an officer in 1941, who preferred to use Colonel C.C.S. for he initial letters of his name and surname. Memories about the Battle of Tripoli to which Nuri Pasha joined as a young lieutenant are established on two stories, one of which is a long and trouble some journey from stanbul-Paris-Marseille and Tunisia to Tripoli, and the other is the daily life story experienced in Khoms Central Frontier Margab Headquarters under the control of his uncle Halil (Kut) Pasha. Nuri Pasha, in his memories lasting about three and a half months, narrates his experiences in Tunisia, the cities amd towns he visited, native mujahideen and tribes, newpeople, different traditions, vivid and entertaining activities in the middle of desert, frontiers and under fire and military inadequacies.
