Moroccan-African cooperation: Some answers to new economic, social and environmental constraints
Abstract :
Morocco has historically maintained economic, political and cultural relations with severalcountries in sub-Saharan Africa. This African vocation of the Kingdom gained newmomentum under the reign of HM King Mohammed VI, as part of a long-term vision basedon the principles of South-South cooperation. The purpose of this paper is to verify Morocco sability to further strengthen its presence and competitiveness in order to take advantage of thepotential offered by the continent. The text takes stock of trade and investment relationsbetween Morocco and sub-Saharan Africa, then looks at the issue of sustainable developmentby presenting Morocco as an example to follow in the continent; finally, it attempts to drawsome lessons on the conditions for strengthening Morocco s economic positioning in Africa.
