Abstract :
In this study, effects of applications of irrigation waters with various levels of salt contents on vitamin C contents, leaf total chlorophyll contents and K/Na ratio of pepper plants grown on various soil textures were investigated. For this purpose, a pot experiment was set up in a randomized factorial plat desing with four replicates. The experiment were prepared and pepper plants were grown on soils with clayey, sandy and clay loamy textures and irrigated with waters having different EC values (control [0.7], 1, 2 ve 3 dS/m) prepared by addition of NaCl. Vitamin C contents in fruit samples collected during harvest and total chlorophyll, K and Na ions in leaf samples were analyzed, the K/Na ratio was calculated. At the end of the experiment, effects of EC treatments, texture and EC*Texture interaction on vitamin C, total chlorophyll and K/Na ratio were found to be significant (P 0.001). In general, increasing EC values resulted in reduction of leaf total chlorophyll contents and K/Na ratio but vitamin C increased in all texture groups
