Seasonal Nutrient Variation In Camarosa Strawberry

The study examines the seasonal nutrient variation in Camarosa strawberry widely grown in Sultanhisar, Aydin. This study was conducted to indicate the optimum time for optimum leaf patterning and nutrient contents of Camarosa strawberry leaves through leaf analyses. Twenty orchards were reserved for this study and leaf samples were taken from every orchard from seedling planting till the end of vegetation period (7 months). Soil samples (0-30cm depth) were also taken from every orchard at the start of vegetation period. As to the results of leaf analysis N, P, K contents, and Ca and Mg contents in the leaves were stable in fruit set period (March) and in June - July. As the micro-element contents in the leaves increased consistently Fe content decreased till August and then increased. The study has found that the optimum time for leaf patterning in Camarosa strawberry, a local variety in Aydin, is the period starting from April till the end of June.
