Title Of Article :
Effects of Fertilizing With Magnesium on The Yield And Quality Of Potato
Abstract :
Effects of Mg applied with different sources (Kieserite, Kalimagnesia) on the yield and yield components of Granola potato (Solanum tuberosum var. Granola) grown in 4 different locations (Kaymaklı, Kaymaklı, Derinkuyu-Özyayla Village, Melendiz-Divarlı Village) of Nevsehir and Niğde provinces in 2004 and 2005 years. According to the results, in every two years in all locations, effects of fertilizers on tuber yields, tuber size distribution, dry matter content of tuber and K, Mg and S contents of tuber and leaves were significant changing depend on the locations. Very important correlations were found between Mg nutrition of plant and tuber yields in all locations. Also in two years in all locations, tuber yields increased in the ratios of 11.5-132.9% by fertilizers with Mg according to the control treatment contained only N and P. In every two years, in all locations the highest tuber yields were obtained by the treatment 3 having CAN + DAP + Kalimagnesia + Urea fertilizers that were given 650 kg N, 120 kg K2O, 68 kg S and 40 kg MgO ha^-1. At the same time, tuber yield of 35 mm size decreased in the ratio of 23.6%, tuber yield of 55 mm size increased in the ratio of 482.5% as mean of all locations, by the treatment 3 which was obtained the highest tuber yield according to the control.
