Abstract :
This paper presents an overview of the developments concerning arts and culture in a transformation period spanning from the Tanzimat Reforms to the Republican era. The Tanzimat Reforms as a whole represents the official attitude towards Westernization within the final decades of the Ottoman Empire. Within the scope of this study, a brief account of the transformations and novel approaches within the arts and culture is presented.
