Title Of Article :
OCCUPATIONAL PROFILE OF PUBLIC RELATIONS IN JOB ADVERTS
Abstract :
Educational institutions in our country have been offering public relations education for a long time. Yet, job requirements and job criteria specified in job adverts for the practice of public relations do not seem to be compatible with the teachings. “Right person for the right job” will both reduce costs and increase success. To that end, selecting right public relations personnel is crucial. In this study, 230 public relation job adverts collected from various human resources websites such as Kariyer.net, Secretcv.com, and Yenibiris.com that appear between January 12th and February 12th, 2016 are examined by using content analysis technique. The categories that are subjected to analysis are public relations positions, socio-demographical variables and appropriate skills and qualities sought by employers. This study mainly aims to determine how the occupation of public relations appears in job ads. The findings of the study reveal that there are no specific occupational criteria for public relations jobs
