Title Of Article :
A PRACTICAL SOLUTION FOR A DEVELOPING COUNTRY RELATED TO INCOME INEQUALITY: SUPPORTING WOMEN’S EMPLOYMENT
Abstract :
This study examines the effect of the rate of women’s employment on income distribution in Turkey between 2004 and 2015. The overall income generated by everyone, without exception, in a society forms the gross domestic product of that country. The societies with lower rates of women in employment tend to record relatively lower levels of gross domestic product compared to those with greater number of women in employment. Given that women are employed in all kinds of sectors ranging from agriculture to services today, it is evident that income distribution is relatively more equal in societies with greater number of women in employment. On the assumption that the half of the population of the world, accordingly of Turkey just as each country in the world, is female; it has been observed that the income inequality in Turkey has decreased with the increasing employment of women. In 2004-2015 periods, 1% increase in FER in Turkey is expected to create a 2.79% decrease in GINI.
