STUDIES ON THE SARUHANOGULLARI

The dissappearence of the Turkey Seljuk State’s central aurthority led to the emergence of many political structures called “beylik”. Saruhanogullari within these principalities established by Saruhan Bey, Manisa being its capital, have played an important role in the adoptation of Turkish-Islamic culture in their field of dominance. They decorated their cities with the Turkish-Islamic artifacts and they, as every political formation, established various relationships with other political formations in their surroundings. Our study aims to provide information about contemporary sources that found records about the Saruhanogullari principality. The contents of the studies on Saruhanogullari from the early 20th century to the present day will be briefly explained through a quantitative asessment. Studies which are the basis of our assessment will be the ones which are directly related to Saruhanogullari. As a result, our article will try to determine the general the status of the main sources in the studies and distribution of studies according to the years and the reason of this distribution and the focal points of these studies.
