Traumatic Diaphragmatic Hernia in a Dog (A Case Report)
Abstract :
In this case, in a hunting dog puppy, traumatic diaphragmatic hernia and its surgical treatment was evaluated. According to information received from the owner the dog was hit by a car two days ago. After the event the dog suffered from severe breathings and decreased desire to food and water. During the clinical examination, dyspnea, exercise intolerance and increased respiratory rate were noted. At the same time, the wheelbarrow test perpetuated the animal s breathing difficulties. In the direct and indirect radiographic examination, the diagnosis of diaphragmatic hernia operation was performed. Postoperatively, patient was observed for 3 months. No postoperative complications were recorded.
