مرکز منطقه ای اطلاع رساني علوم و فناوري - A validity and reliability study of Turkish version of the Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire-Female

Abstract :

Aim. The research was performed methodically to test the validity and reliability of Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire-Female (SQLQ-F) scale in Turkey. Method. The research was conducted with 180 married literate women who applied to two separate health care centers due to various reasons and who agreed to participate to the research. The data were collected by personal information form and SQLQ-F Regarding the SQLQ-F validity, language / content validity and structure validity was examined. Regarding the content validity, opinions of experts were taken and factor analysis for structure validity was made. Regarding the scale validity, internal consistency, relationship of dimension scores, and two half test reliability was examined. Result. The age of the participants was 33.6±10.4. Of the women, 44.4% of the women was graduated from primary school, and 77.8% live in immediate family. Total point reliability coefficient of the scale was found to be r = 0.32-0.67 and for internal consistency, Cronbach was found to be α=0.83. Spearman-Brown, Guttman split-half ve Cronbach α reliability coefficients which were applied to calculate the two half test reliability coefficient of the scale were found to be sufficient. Conclusion. SQLQ-F in Turkish can be considered as a valid and reliable scale to evaluate the sexual life quality of Turkish women.
