Views of hospital managers about Total Quality Management
Abstract :
Aim. The views of hospital managers about Total Quality Management (TQM) may be considered as an important factor for successful implementation and evaluation of the process. The aim of this descriptive study is to identify the views of hospital managers in Sivas about TQM. Method. The universe of this study consisted of all head doctors, directors and head nurses and their assistants of general hospitals in Sivas. Data collection tool of the study was a questionnaire. Results. The response rate of the questionnaire was 84.2%. It was found that 37.5% of the managers did not receive any training on TQM and the managers found their knowledge level as “medium” (X=3.16) about TQM. Conclusion. Although the managers had knowledge gaps regarding TQM, it was also found out that the managers’ wievs about TQM were generally positive.
