Abstract :
Since ancient times people are not living on their own but as a community. Thereis a specific structural unity in communities. Nutrition takes a big part in the formation of a life style. Although the nutrition style may change because of different reasons still maintains its conventional structure for a long time. District and villages where vegetable and animal productions were producted intensively were selected purposively. Face to face farmer interviews resulted in 176 completed questionsnaires. This study aims to find out the nutritional habits in rural (Erzurum province is taken as an example) and a research has been done on nutrition levels and the factors which affect the nutrition. As a result, it has been determined that the nourishment of the target group is ordinary and unhealthy and also they are moving away from their traditional structure very fast through their cultural changes. The future of the communities depends on healthy generation, and healthy generation depends on maintaining of the healthy nutrition habits. The values which keep the generations together should be protected and right nutritional habits should be encouraged by education and by publication studies.
